Q: What is the procedure for Gratuities?

We are often asked for suggestions on appropriate levels of gratuity at our fishing lodges. We recognize that tipping is a personal matter and we would hope that it reflects your satisfaction with the performance of the person receiving the gratuity. Although we are reluctant to provide values we hope the following ranges will help those who wish some guidance. (Based on per person) 

Guides: Anywhere from $35 to over $50 per fisherman per day depending on your satisfaction and their effort. You should personally hand this to your guide upon departure.
Staff: $10-$20 per day at Selwyn Lake Lodge or Twin Falls Lodge. This can be left with the Lodge Manager to ensure the gratuities get distributed fairly between the dining room and housekeeping staff who have worked to make your stay more pleasant.
Chef: If you found the food service to be up to, or surpassing your expectations, or if you require a special diet, you may wish to give the Chef a gratuity of $5 to $7 per day.
Dock Hand: If the dock hand has serviced your equipment, replaced line on your reels or otherwise performed duties which contributed to your comfort and success of the trip, a gratuity of $5 per day would be well received.
None of the above should be construed as anything more than a guideline, and each guest should feel comfortable in making their own choices in the provisions of gratuities.

Q: What kind of Fishing Licence do I need?

Note: Children under the age of 16 do not require a licence. Saskatchewan seniors 65 and over do not require a fishing licence, but do require photo ID and proof of age.
